I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin' Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin' Taylah looked through her windshield. She half grimaced and half smiled at the golden arches that lurked high in the sky. It has been a few months since she's been here. Taylah could never afford coming here, since she had to keep herself model/actress thin. Hollywood would never accept a McDonald's-holic. She was splurging a little by going to this fast foods restaurant. The young girl didn't know why she was in the sudden mood for this happy food. Maybe it was because she was feeling slightly depressed do to her family. That would make anybody want better-mood-food.
Turning on her signal, Taylah pulled into the parking lot that was, not surprisingly, full of cars. Of course, McDonald's was that America's Most Popular Restaurant. She didn't know anybody that has yet to be to this place that is said to be the Golden Arches of Heaven. The name fits this place quite well,
she thought as she stepped out of her sporty, cute blue car. This place is just a heart attack away... Waving the disapproving thinking away, she started to go through the two sets of double doors. The smell of fresh salty fries was the first to hit her. Then the chattering came and the sound of buzzers going off, signaling that the food was ready. Only a few people stood in line at the moment. Others were sitting in the tables or booths that were spread across the floor. Children's laughter filled the air as some small kids played in the playroom. Taylah could see a few mothers watching their little babies with smiles upon their proud faces. She wished that she could go back to that time, to that age where the only drama was which crayon to use when coloring Winnie The Pooh. Yes, those were simpler times. Those children don't realize how lucky they are at the moment. Life can change at any second. Taylah's dark thoughts that surrounded that quote drowned out the inspiring part of it. Shaking her head slightly, she got behind a man that was telling the cash register person what he wanted to order. Taylah looked up at the menu that was posted above. Taylah didn't want anything too greasy, but she also didn't want anything that a rabbit would favor. Settling on a meal that she use to get as a child, she waited for the man to finish ordering his food. Once he was out of the line and waiting in front of the tray that would hold his order, Taylah stepped forward. "Hello, Ma'am. What may I get you today?" Before she could say what she wanted, the register girl started speaking again. "Would you like to try some of our snack wraps today?" The robotic smile that was plastered on the girl's face was not convincing. This lady wanted to be anywhere, but at her job. "Uh, no thank you. I would like a number 12, please," Taylah said clearly. The register girl looked up at the menu, trying to find out what the number 12 was. "Oh, so a 10 piece chicken nugget. Alright." The lady started pushing buttons and stared at the number, saying it quietly. Tayalh took out some change that she had in her purse and handed it over to the girl. Smiling friendly, she stepped out of the line. Waiting for her order, she looked around the building a little more. It was fancier than other Mcdonald's that she has been to. Benefits of living New York, Taylah told herself. She gazed out into the distance, waiting. Word Count: 631 Notes: There ya go! ZANE. i just keep coming back for more because I have nothing better to do Zane drove through the crazy Manhattan traffic expertly, even though he still was hardly moving in his black Camaro. Despite his expertise in navigating through cities 10 miles per hour was about the speed limit even though the signs clearly said 20. That was just something else that he hated about New York. You could never travel the speed limit. He didn't think it was possible to get a speeding ticket in the city especially during rush hour. Which happened to be most of the hours in this town. Zane despised it. He like getting places quickly, the cause of his many speeding tickets, and hated having to wait. He did have an extremely lazy nature, but once he started something he had to get it done. That was just him. And at the moment he was in a bad mood, and hungry.
Food.. where can I get food.. he thought looking around the, ignoring the sky scarpers and all it's other wonders. They weren't of interest to him at the moment. But something he saw in the distance was.. Big yellow arches. Food! he thought happily. Truthfully he didn't like McDonald's food all that much. But considering his current situation and the fact that it'd take two hours to get to anywhere that he did like he decided to settle.
Five minutes later he rolled his Camaro into a spot along the side of the street, setting it in park. Then he got out and strolled inside in his usual relaxed way. Much to his dismay there was a line. He frowned lightly and walked over, enjoying the smell of grease and burgers. He noticed the girl standing in front of him, she had brown hair and he thought he'd seen her before.. Probably not.. he told himself, shrugging off the thought. She ordered, allowing him to place his own order. "Uh.. A number seven." he said, picking the first thing that he thought looked good. Then he walked over to get his soda, pushing the Mountain Dew button. And stood, sipping at his green drink and waiting for his food.

That familiar voice brought Taylah out of her silent gaze. She knew that voice from somewhere. It wasn't uncommon for someone to recognize another person. In this city, Whitecresters were always lurking around. Taylah has had a few people come up to her already, claiming that they knew each other. Usually, she put on her "I'm so happy and are so interested in what you have to say" fake smile and suck it up. Sometimes she can tune their voices out, but other times it's hard. However, sometimes she's the one that finds the others that are like herself, trying to become famous. Most of the time they were playing gigs, modeling clothes, or acting on camera, but sometimes she can find people that try to get away from that drama headache for just a few minutes. She was just like those people. Many times, she has sneaked out to get away from her manager Lysa and all the headache that comes with acting and modeling. However, even though it can be annoying sometimes, Taylah wouldn't trade it for the world. I mean, this is her dream that she is living and trying to succeed in.
Looking at the guy that had been behind her and was the owner of the familiar voice, she knew that he was from Agency automatically. She thought back to all the times that she could have seen this guy. He didn't seem like the actor or model type, so that left a singer. But, if he was a singer, then I would be having some random song that he sang playing in my head. So, maybe he's a drummer, or a guitarist... After examining him a little more, she pushed the drummer suggestion out of her head. So, he's probably a guitarist. Yeah, that seems right, Taylah thought. She started to say something to him, but she refrained from putting any words into the actual air. For some reason, she had a feeling like he didn't want to be talked to. She made her mind up when she saw her food being placed on the tray. Smiling once again at the Mcdonald's people, she took her food and turned away. She would just act like she hadn't seen him. Hopefully, he hadn't noticed me staring at him...
She took a few steps towards the area where everybody was eating. Glancing around, she saw a booth that was unoccupied at the moment. Taylah snagged the seat quickly. After placing her food down and settling into the cushioned seat, she dug in her jeans pocket for her phone. Her fingers touched the coolness of her Iphone. Pulling it out, Taylah was shocked to see that there were no missed calls or texts. She found that quite surprising. Usually, someone tried to contact her. "The day's still young, but this could actually be a halfway normal day," she said under her breath. "No calls from parents, brothers, and managers sounds delightful at the moment." Grinning slightly and shaking her head, she placed her phone down on the table beside the food. Taylah relaxed slightly and started to enjoy her food.

ZANE. i just keep coming back for more because I have nothing better to do Zane looked around the noisy place, people watching, since he had nothing better to do. Then he heard numbers listed off that matched the ones for his order so he went to pick it up. When he turned he noticed the girl that he thought he knew from somewhere earlier watching him. Maybe I do know her from somewhere.. he thought, a slightly perplexed looked on his face. Whitecrest most likely.. quite a few people where in Whitecrest, and he stumbled across a few here and there. It wasn't like he knew any of there names. Well.. he just didn't take the time to get to know there names.
He pushed the thought out of his mind and looked around, trying to find a place to sit. There was a table open next to the same girl from before. He sighed and walked over, sitting down before anyone else could. He glanced over at the girl before telling himself that he didn't know her and talking to her would probably make him look like a stalker. So he just sipped his soda in his relaxed, uncaring way and ate a french fry,
He sighed lightly and unwrapped his burger, happy to have a minute of rest. He never got any peace these days. It was always recording with his band, rehearsing, writing songs, or being so tired from the aforesaid that he did nothing but sleep afterward. He wasn't a kind of person to handle stress well, or lack of sleep. Both of which he seemed to get a lot of lately. He frowned slightly and ate another french fry.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin' Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin' Taylah ate her food slowly, letting her mind wander around. She did that quite often. Her mind, I guess you could say, had a mind of it's own. Usually her little different state of mind got her into trouble, especially when she was in school. Oh yes, school. How could anybody forget those times? Running along the playground, reading simple little books, all the small drama, yep those were the times. She felt her heart become heavy. It's been awhile since she thought about the normal half of her childhood. It seems like it's been an eternity since she was swinging on the rusted old swing set, or sliding down the metal slid that looked so tall to a five-years-old perspective.
Looking up slightly, she saw that the guy that she had recognized was sitting in the table beside her. Don't say anything to him...Just enjoy the peace and quiet, Taylah told herself once again. Turning slightly, she grabbed another french fry. The salty taste was welcoming. She shook her head, allowing her hair to go over her shoulders. Relax and let your mind go into its little happy place... She leaned back against the seat and closed her eyes for a minute. Hoping that she didn't look like a complete fool, she reopened her eyes and started eating again.
The vibrating sound that her phone made startled her. Taylah jumped slightly and looked in the direction of her phone. She was just in time to see it vibrate itself off the table. The piece of metal hit the ground. It kept vibrating. Luckily the back didn't pop off or something. However, she saw that the phone decided to stop vibrating when it reached the table that the guy she recognized sat at. "Great..." She slid closer to the edge of the booth, grumbling under her breath. Not wanting to just reach over, grab the phone, and perhaps do something while coming up that could be bad, she decided to finally speak to this guy. "Um, I'm very sorry, but my phone's kind of under your table...Can you grab it for me, please?" She hoped that she didn't sound to timid. Taylah waited, wondering if this guy would give her the phone.
